Dr Mahesh Bhana matriculated in Johannesburg and obtained his MBChB degree from the University of Natal Medical School in 1987. He acquired his Fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with the College of Medicine in 1994, and started private practice in 1997. Whilst in practice he developed a keen interest in reproductive medicine resulting in further local and international training from Singapore and Denmark.
He is registered as a specialist in reproductive medicine with the HPCSA. He is also a member of the Durban Obstetric and Gynaecology Society, the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the South African Society of Reproductive Medicine and the American Society of Reproductive Medicine. He is the Clinical Director of the Durban Fertility Clinic since 2003, in partnership with Dr Sagie Naidu.
